Replay Expo 2011 co-host Darren Jeffries with Ken Masters & Solid Snake during the Cosplay Masquerade Well, that's the Replay Expo over and done with for another year! We'd like to thank every single attendee, exhibitor and crew member; all of whom helped to ensure that our second annual Expo was once again an overwhelming success.

The first set of official event photographs are now available to view on Flickr (thanks to Alan Chang) and you can also watch a selection of video clips on our Youtube channel. More photos and video to follow in the New Year!

Kick Energy return as Headline Sponsor of Replay Expo

We are delighted to announce that Kick Energy is the headline sponsor for the second year running at Replay Expo.

The brand, known as the UK’s Fuel for Gamers will be at the event with the gaming Landrover, running competitions to give away lots of goodies, including cases of Kick Energy and exclusive Batman Arkham City branded controller pads.

Northern Lights Pinball at Replay 2011

Northern Lights Pinball Show The overwhelming popularity of the Pinball Machines at Replay Expo 2010 prompted the Northern members of the UK Pinball League to form a new association called Northern Lights Pinball.

Replay Expo 2011 will see the debut of the inaugural Northern Lights Pinball Show. This will see upwards of 50 pinball tables available on free play to all Replay Expo 2011 ticket holders. Northern Lights Pinball have spent the past 12 months planning what will be the largest pinball event ever held in the North.

BAFTA Presents: Pages of History - A Look Back at Newsfield

In the 1980s the magazines from one company were the best-selling and most distinctive, thanks to their cover artwork and reviewing style. Newsfield’s titles Crash, Zzap and Amtix captured the enthusiasm of the rapidly changing software market and for many became a guide to which games to buy.

Behind the scenes was ROGER KEAN, the executive and publisher. And creating the fabulous artwork was OLI FREY. On Sunday 6th November at Blackpool's Replay Expo, join freelance writer Andrew Fisher – whose career started with Newsfield – as he looks back at the gore, the rivalry and the hard work that created the affection that endures to the present day.

Music band SID 80s to return to Blackpool!

The rumours are TRUE - SID 80s will be performing at the Official Replay Expo Charity After-Show Party on Saturday evening, November 5th. Jon Hare and Ben Daglish make their return and this year they will be joined by fellow musicians Jeremy Longley and Andreas Wallström.

Microsoft support Replay Expo 2011

We are very pleased to announce that Microsoft are supporting the Replay Expo this year. The Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect team will be attending the show and will have some Kinect setups with the latest releases for you to try out. The Microsoft stand will have several trained Kinect staff available to teach you how to jump, duck, turn and twist your way to hands-free gaming greatness!

European Gaming League (EGL) to return to Replay Expo!

We are pleased to confirm that the European Gaming League (formerly ECL) will be returning to this year's Replay Expo in Blackpool and will have a much larger presence than in 2010!

Confirmed tournament titles include Halo: Reach, Gears of War 3 (18+), Battlefield 3, Call Of Duty: Black Ops (18+) and FIFA 12. Check back next week for more information on competition formats and prizes.

The European Gaming League themselves will be holding their own event at the Emirates Stadium this weekend (29th-30th October). Replay will continue their partnership with the European Gaming League and once again exhibit at the event, bringing a host of retro games and small tournaments to enjoy over the weekend.

Join us for the Charity After-Show Party!

Join us for the first ever Official Replay Expo Charity After-Show Party on Saturday 5th November 2011 from 7.30pm.

We will be raising as much money as possible for two fantastic charities, SpecialEffect and GamesAid. There will be music provided by the awesome Nintendisco, a discounted bar, raffle with amazing prizes, the obligatory Pub Quiz, plus many other events. It will held at the Hilton Hotel Blackpool and tickets are only £10 per person.

BAFTA Presents: The Rise & Fall of Imagine Software

Bruce Everiss, a director at Imagine Software, will talk of the triumphs and tragedy of Imagine’s heady days at the Replay Expo in Blackpool.

Replay also welcomes Paul Andersen, producer/director of the 1984 BBC TV documentary Commercial Breaks, which famously chronicled the company’s very public meltdown.

Replay Expo hosts first RetroCollect World Championships

RetroCollect, the Retro Gaming Collectors’ Community, will be out in force at Replay Expo 2011. Many Retro Collect staff members will be attending and they’ve organised some incredible retro gaming events.

For instance, unless you were in the USA in 1990 you may have missed out on a legendary piece of gaming history – the Nintendo World Championships, held using a special Nintendo World Championship cartridge. However Retro Collect is bringing this excitement to the UK for the first time at Replay Expo, in the RetroCollect World Championships 2011.

Chris Hoyle and the Golden Age of Blackpool’s Arcades

Blackpool resident Chris Hoyle owns one of the largest collections of mint condition 1970’s and 80’s Arcade Games in the World. At this year’s Replay Expo, Chris will reminisce about his personal experiences growing up in the Arcade culture of Blackpool during the Golden Age of Videogames.

He will also be talking about his private collection of arcade machines and his obsession to re-manufacture the games with original parts to re-create the ‘perfect’ arcade.

Replay Expo 2011 hosts revealed

We are pleased to announce that TV presenters and former Hollyoaks stars Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries will be opening and hosting this year’s Replay Expo.

Video game enthusiasts Matt and Darren who played Max and OB in the soap will be with us for the duration of the weekend and will be taking part in a number of events we have lined up for the Expo. The guys will also be filming at the event for their gaming website Project Bunker so make sure you wear your best smiles!
